The Jewellery and Metals program provides an interdisciplinary focus that combines creative thinking, technical mastery, and business acumen with historical context, contemporary relevance, and critical analysis. Develop your design and illustration capabilities alongside analytical and research competencies while mastering gemstone setting, casting, chasing, tool fabrication, molding, anodizing, and specialized production techniques. This concentration establishes core competencies in metalwork through hands-on exploration of fabrication, casting, and surface finishing. Complementary courses from the Object Design and Fabrication minor and Craft History and Theory enhance the program's curriculum. Participants in this minor will gain experience working with varied materials, bridging the gap between artistic, artisanal, and design practices.
