Develop the expertise to guide educational initiatives beyond conventional classrooms through Victoria University's Bachelor of Education Studies (EBST). This program also serves as an alternative route into the teaching profession.
Our Bachelor of Education Studies equips you with instructional capabilities and theoretical understanding for diverse community and private sector roles, such as:
mentorship and academic support initiatives, community outreach projects, social and welfare services, extended day programs, educational assistant roles
Upon graduating from this program, students will demonstrate the ability to:
Examine and assess educational theories, research methodologies, and practical applications within evolving community and human service environments;
Evaluate frameworks for lifelong learning that address individual and collective needs in social contexts, while upholding ethical standards, sustainability, and social inclusion;
Design, execute, appraise, and refine educational curricula and activities that showcase hands-on, leisure-based, and innovative competencies;
Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English (or equivalent).
PLUS:
IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score or 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
OR:
Completion of a Foundation course or equivalent
TOEFL: overall score of 67, section scores no less than:
Listening: 12
Speaking: 18
Reading: 15
Writing: 21
PTE: overall score of 50-57, no section score less than 50
CAE: overall score of 169, no individual band less than 169
VU English – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) (Level 5): achieved.
