This course equips you to educate children from infancy to age five, while exploring school transition strategies through comprehensive curriculum studies and pedagogical theories.
Graduates of this program will achieve the following learning outcomes:
Implement teaching strategies that promote active participation in diverse learning environments while centering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in early education.
Analyze various knowledge systems and approaches, recognizing children and families as active partners in educational planning; conduct in-depth research on play concepts and childhood perceptions across different communities.
Create instructional methods that challenge norms, promote equity, and serve community needs while developing comprehensive learning experiences grounded in ethical practice and collaborative relationships in early education settings.
Demonstrate extensive understanding of teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and evaluation techniques relevant to contemporary global education trends; conduct thorough investigations into both local and international early childhood education frameworks.
Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English (or equivalent).
OR:
Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent).
PLUS:
IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score or 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
OR:
Completion of a Foundation course or equivalent.
