This degree equips you with the expertise and confidence to teach effectively from preschool through sixth grade.
Through school placements and specialized programs, you'll refine your teaching abilities while discovering your personal teaching style. Opportunities include working with children who have disabilities or helping students who struggle with engagement. You'll identify your strengths as an educator and learn to apply them for student success.
Flexible entry points allow you to complete the program in 3-4 years based on your prior qualifications.
The curriculum includes 110 days of supervised teaching practice across early childhood and primary education environments.
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 with final-year mathematics courses; or overseas equivalent.
English language requirements
IELTS score: Speaking 7.5, Listening 7.5, Reading 6.5 and Writing 6.5. or International Second Language Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) test with a Level 4 in speaking, listening, reading and writing or equivalent English language test with the proviso that students must prove they meet the English language requirement as determined by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and/or Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) to be eligible for registration. TOEFL iBT: 100 with minimums: (Reading 19, Listening 20, Speaking 20, Writing 24); Pearson (PTE): Overall 65 (no band less than 58): Cambridge-CAE; Overall 185 (no band less than 176).
