This graduate-level program requires applicants to hold at least a Bachelor's degree. The curriculum is designed to facilitate students' transition to UOW while equipping them for careers in healthcare. Special emphasis is placed on intensive foundational coursework and initial study periods to improve both academic performance and professional preparedness. This approach encourages students to remain dedicated to their studies. During their first month, all enrollees must complete an online Academic Integrity Module (AIM). This specialized training develops academic literacy skills tailored to each student's discipline, program, and future career. AIM employs a self-guided, step-by-step format to promote active, independent learning. The module allows students to receive instant feedback on errors while connecting them to university policies and support services. Its primary objective is preventing academic misconduct by building students' understanding of integrity principles.
In the foundational course MNPR800 Nursing Foundations, participants will complete various learning activities. These include digital readings, instructional videos, and introductory forums on Moodle, all designed to build core subject knowledge while facilitating peer connections. Students will receive ongoing feedback through multiple channels: self-evaluations, peer assessments, automated quiz responses, and instructor replies to forum queries. This formative feedback system aims to maintain engagement, cultivate growth mindsets, and improve performance in graded evaluations. The program utilizes learning analytics to monitor student progress, identifying and assisting those who may struggle academically—especially crucial during the adjustment period of their first semester as they adapt to program demands.
