The Bachelor of Primary Education (Honours) serves as an additional final-year pathway for outstanding students who have excelled during the initial three years of either the Bachelor of Primary Education or Bachelor of Primary Education (Dean’s Scholar) program.
This nationally recognized qualification prepares graduates to teach from Kindergarten through Year 6 in both public and private schools. The program combines on-campus instruction, digital learning, and practical placements in schools and communities. Starting in your second year, the comprehensive professional experience component lets you observe classroom dynamics and implement teaching strategies early in your academic journey.
Throughout your studies, you'll have access to rural teaching placements, international exchange programs with UOW's global partners, and cultural immersion opportunities abroad.
In your final year, you can either pursue an independent research project aligned with your interests or collaborate with a Primary Education faculty member. Every honors student receives dedicated research supervision and must produce a thesis or equivalent research output documenting their investigation, methodology, and results. Completing the Honors program opens doors to advanced research opportunities at the postgraduate level.
