Primary school educators instruct students from years 1 through 6, covering all subjects in the Australian curriculum. This foundational teaching degree equips graduates with the credentials needed to teach in Australia's government, Catholic, and independent school systems. Upon completion, graduates qualify for teacher registration across all Australian regions and in nations that accept Australian teaching certifications.
The program emphasizes student-focused learning methods that foster analytical and critical reasoning skills. While education fundamentals form the core of this degree, students also choose three specialized units focusing on specific areas of the primary curriculum.
The course includes four mandatory teaching practicums in school settings, completed in full-time blocks regardless of study mode. Students may have opportunities to complete placements in rural locations, other Australian states, or internationally.
