Pursuing a Legal Studies degree equips you with comprehensive knowledge of Australia's legal framework and judicial hierarchy. You'll explore fundamental elements of private law in Australia, covering contract law principles and torts, while developing the ability to analyze how law intersects with justice. This adaptable program lets you tailor your degree by pairing Legal Studies with other disciplines. Note: The Legal Studies major isn't offered to students in the Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Laws combined degree.
The curriculum includes four mandatory courses plus diverse electives such as family law, international business law, and taxation law. During your final year, you'll complete a Law Research Project, collaborating with an advisor to investigate a relevant topic and produce a thesis that applies your Legal Studies expertise to practical challenges.
