Classics and Ancient History explores the historical, linguistic, and literary achievements of Greek and Roman civilizations. This comprehensive major integrates all these elements to provide a complete understanding of this dynamic and timeless period.

The foundations of modern society are deeply rooted in Greek and Roman influences, evident in everything from governance systems to athletic competitions, spiritual beliefs to structural design. Through examining history, languages, writings, faiths, and artifacts, this major offers a complete view of these influential ancient societies. Greeks and Romans grappled with fundamental questions that still resonate today: the cycle of empires, impacts of expansion, religious conflicts, and evolving social norms. UWA stands as Western Australia's sole institution offering this specialized program.
