The Master of Architecture is a professionally accredited graduate degree offering advanced architectural education, serving as the primary route to becoming a licensed architect. Building upon the foundational Bachelor of Architecture and Built Environments, this program leverages a wealth of educational heritage, industry collaborations, technical expertise, design innovation, and investigative research. It seeks to cultivate deep, lasting connections with architecture as a practice, academic field, and cultural force. Design studios centered on projects constitute the heart of the curriculum, focusing on professional standards, analytical design approaches, modern and emerging concepts, technologies, methodologies, and versatile skill development for architectural careers. Students confront diverse design challenges, including urban development scenarios, socio-ecological considerations, and intricate structures. Studio work is supplemented with coursework in Professional Practice, Advanced Technologies, and Design Research, featuring elective options for customized specialization. The program concludes with a research-driven capstone project, mentored by industry and academic experts within intimate studio settings.
Admission to most postgraduate coursework courses at the University of Tasmania require qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree.
To be eligible for the Master of Architecture you require a Bachelor of Architecture and Built Environments (previously called the Bachelor of Environmental Design, or an equivalent three-year undergraduate degree in Architecture.

TOEFL (iBT) 72 (no skill below: Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; Writing 22)
PTE Academic 50 with no score lower than 50
UTAS Access-English Level 7 - 60% (no individual score less than 60%)
Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English) - B Grade
Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) - C Grade
Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) Higher - C Grade
