The Associate Degree in Arts is a two-year full-time program (or part-time equivalent) that enables students to examine human culture and behavior through various lenses and historical contexts. This program encourages exploration of contemporary societal challenges while developing skills to contribute to humanity's social and economic progress, as well as engaging with creative expression, performance, and innovation. This qualification offers multiple pathways: serving as the foundation for a Bachelor of Arts, allowing specialization through two BA majors, or providing the freedom to sample courses across diverse disciplines. Students can customize their learning experience by selecting from more than twenty potential majors and minors available in the Bachelor of Arts, along with numerous elective options to broaden their expertise.

While many recognize Bali and Komodo dragons, studying Indonesian reveals our nearest neighbor's rich literary heritage and demonstrates how language proficiency opens doors to one of Southeast Asia's most vibrant cultures. For Australians, Indonesian language skills and cultural understanding represent valuable assets. Australia's critical national concerns - including security, border protection, agriculture, and commerce - are deeply connected to Indonesia. As bilateral ties between our nations strengthen, the significance of this knowledge will continue to increase.
