The Associate Degree in Arts is a two-year full-time program (or part-time equivalent) that lets you examine human culture and behavior through various lenses and historical contexts. You'll tackle pressing modern issues while gaining skills to contribute to societal and economic progress, or dive into creative expression, performance, and innovative thinking. This qualification offers multiple pathways: it can serve as the foundation for a Bachelor of Arts, allow you to focus on two BA majors that interest you, or enable you to sample diverse disciplines. With over twenty potential majors and minors from the Bachelor of Arts plus numerous elective choices, the Associate Degree gives you the freedom to craft your educational journey by selecting subjects that broaden your knowledge and skill set.
In Gender & Diversity studies, you'll engage in cross-disciplinary examination of how gender, race, and sexuality shape our existence. Societal norms about these concepts have influenced everything from our core humanity definitions to ancient literature and modern style. The program equips you with multiple theoretical frameworks and analytical methods to comprehend the cultural beliefs and traditions that mold our experiences as individuals defined by gender and race.
Admission to undergraduate courses at the University of Tasmania requires the completion of qualifications equivalent to a 12th year of education in Australia.
Most of our undergraduate programs have the following English language requirements.
IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL (iBT) 72 (no skill below: Reading 10; Listening 9; Speaking 16; Writing 19)
PTE Academic 50 with no score lower than 42
UTAS Access-English Level 6 - 60% (no individual score less than 55%)
Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English) - B Grade
Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) - C Grade
Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) Higher - C Grade
