This program will equip you with advanced performance skills and the capacity to express yourself musically across various genres, from orchestral and solo works to early music, jazz, and contemporary pieces.
Designed for musicians looking to refine their performance expertise, this program develops technical proficiency and artistic communication through musical expression.
Each semester includes 4-5 study units, with one dedicated to your primary instrument. First-year students must complete MCGY5610 Research Skills for Music Performance.
During subsequent semesters, you can choose between a dissertation or specialized seminars aligned with your focus area.
The curriculum features two recital performances, ensemble participation, chamber group work, and mandatory seminar attendance.
The course structure emphasizes practical performance training, both as a solo artist and ensemble member.
Your studies conclude with a 50-minute public recital performance.
