This program is delivered in partnership with top-tier institutions and art venues, providing exceptional opportunities to engage with working artists and exhibition spaces for students focusing on contemporary art.
Designed for professionals already in the field – including art educators, curators, librarians, administrators, writers, and gallery personnel – it enhances career advancement while also serving as a transition pathway for newcomers.
The Master of Art Curating is a graduate coursework program that deepens your understanding of the cultural, theoretical, social, political, and economic frameworks shaping gallery and museum operations.
Core studies in art and curatorial practice are complemented by practical exhibition experience in the curatorial lab. You'll also take selective units and can choose from diverse electives across the University.
The program culminates with a capstone experience, either through a research dissertation on your chosen subject or a project-based placement at an art gallery, museum, or relevant arts organization in Australia or internationally.
