While tailored for architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and related fields to expand their professional capabilities, we also encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds. This program perfectly complements graduates of the Bachelor of Architecture and Environments degree.
Skilled urban design professionals are in high demand across private firms, development agencies, and government bodies at various levels. These roles involve creating and assessing urban design policies, strategic plans, guidelines, master plans, and participating in the detailed design and management of urban spaces.
Urban designers play a vital role in thorough development assessment and in shaping perspectives on urban preservation and change. Additionally, there's increasing need for urban design educators and media analysts in this growing field.
Admission to this course requires:
an undergraduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, town planning, urbanism, geography or a related field; or
completion of the requirements of the embedded Graduate Certificate with a WAM of at least 65.
Based on the applicant's undergraduate performance, the Program Director reserves the right to require a portfolio of work indicating relevant design interests and capabilities for admission. A portfolio should only be provided if requested by the Program Director.
IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
