Nourishment plays a vital role in human existence. While fulfilling basic dietary needs and impacting wellbeing, it also holds significant social and cultural importance while driving economic growth. In Australia, food and drink production stands as the biggest employer in the manufacturing sector, with the industry's significance set to expand alongside rising global population and consumption.

The Food Science program builds upon basic studies in biology, chemistry, and statistics; includes key intermediate courses covering food science fundamentals and biochemistry; and advances to specialized subjects in food production methods, food chemistry & biochemistry, technological applications in food science, and innovation in food product creation.

This program equips students with core understanding and practical abilities valued by food sector employers. Its multidisciplinary and hands-on approach also develops adaptable skills that align well with various other disciplines in biological and environmental sciences.
