Anatomy and histology explores the structural organization of living organisms. Your journey begins with examining cellular architecture (histology) along with fundamental tissues in mammalian biology and musculoskeletal anatomy. In advanced years, the curriculum branches into four specialized areas: topographical anatomy (focusing on bones, muscles, nerves, and vascular systems); neuroanatomy (examining the nervous system's structure and organization); histology (microscopic study of cells and tissues); and embryology (tracking development from fertilization to fetal stage). Dissection forms an integral component.
The Bachelor of Science (Advanced) is an undergraduate program designed to sharpen analytical and critical thinking abilities, opening pathways to research careers that contribute to global betterment. Core units establish foundational scientific knowledge, followed by specialization through a chosen stream, program, or major from the Science disciplines, complemented by a minor or secondary major from either science or interdisciplinary fields. The curriculum also incorporates Open Learning Environment units and electives to fulfill credit requirements.
An optional Honours year extends your studies, cultivating advanced analytical capabilities and preparing you for research-intensive paths like PhD programs. This involves conducting an independent, supervised research project alongside specialized coursework in your discipline.
