Tailored for individuals holding an accredited bachelor's degree, the Master of Teaching (Primary) enables you to become a certified primary educator through four semesters of intensive learning.
This two-year course cultivates, instructs, and supports future educators to bring fresh perspectives and inventive solutions to evolving educational demands shaped by societal shifts, community needs, and technological advancements. The program builds upon your existing undergraduate expertise by equipping you with essential teaching methodologies and pedagogical understanding.
Your academic journey combines campus-based learning through lectures, tutorials, and interactive sessions with practical teaching placements in schools. These structured field experiences facilitate professional growth as you transition into your educational career. Upon completion, you'll be fully certified to teach across all primary grade levels from Foundation to Year 6.
An approved bachelor degree, in a different discipline, with a minimum GPA 4.5 from an approved tertiary institution which includes the equivalent of at least one full year of study in areas relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum in Australian schools.
Students will be required to submit a statement addressing non-academic criteria.
English Proficiency
IELTS score of 7.5 overall; speaking 8; listening 8, reading 7, writing 7. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ.
TOEFL IBT, TOEFL PB, Pearsons, BE, CES, and OET are not accepted.
