The Master of Clinical Psychology equips you with the essential training, competencies, and expertise needed to practice effectively within the psychology field.
Clinical psychologists work to enhance psychological wellbeing while reducing mental health challenges. They specialize in evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and preventing various emotional and behavioral issues, such as anxiety disorders, depressive conditions, stress-related problems, substance misuse, chronic illness adaptation, interpersonal conflicts, and learning difficulties.
This intensive two-year full-time program delivers comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical clinical psychology skills through academic study, supervised training, and research components. Students build expertise in both the scientific foundations and applied aspects of clinical psychology, learning evidence-based treatment approaches for diverse healthcare and mental health environments.
The program includes 1000 hours of hands-on clinical experience across multiple settings, including community organizations, non-profit agencies, and private practices, allowing students to refine their professional capabilities under expert supervision.
An approved 4-year bachelor degree in psychology (minimum IIA honours) or equivalent 4-year APAC-accredited program.
Applicants must be eligible for provisional or if applicable, full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Applicants with non-Australian degrees must have their qualifications assessed by the APS.
