Embark on the UC Master of Clinical Psychology program, a challenging two-year degree offering comprehensive professional development to prepare you for registration as a clinical psychologist. This program combines advanced academic studies, hands-on supervised placements, and clinically focused research to develop your expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. As a student, you'll begin as a provisional psychologist while completing approximately 1000 hours of supervised clinical experience. Your initial placements will occur at the University's student-run Health Clinic, providing valuable interprofessional collaboration experience, followed by workplace-based training opportunities – all guided by our team of expert academic supervisors.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
1. A completed four year sequence in psychology accredited by APAC and completed within the last 10 years
2. A GPA of 6.0 or higher in fourth year psychology honours or graduate diploma course
When no GPA is given for the honours year:
- UC graduates - hold upper second class psychology honours (of at least 80%)
- Non-UC graduates - hold first class psychology honours (of at least 85%)
To be eligible you must have an overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no band score below 7.0; TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 94 with: R: 24; L: 24 S: 23; W: 27; Pearson Test of Academic English: 65 with no skill score below 65; Cambridge English Scale: 185 with no sub-score below 185; Occupational English Test: No grade lowers than 'B' in any of the sub-tests.
