This Master's program equips you for professional clinical psychology practice, focusing particularly on evaluating and treating mental health conditions.
You'll develop expertise in assisting clients of all ages - from infants and families to children, teens, adults, groups, couples, and diverse cultural populations.
The program fosters your professional development by exposing you to various therapeutic methodologies, helping you establish your unique psychological practice style.
Your training begins with an initial placement at ECU's Psychological Services Centre in Wanneroo. Unlike most Australian universities, our training facility operates within the community rather than on campus. Additionally, we maintain partnerships with clinical psychologists throughout Perth, working in hospitals, mental health services, private practices, and other institutions, ensuring our students gain meaningful, practical experience through diverse placement options.

Qualification Requirements
All applicants are required to have a 4th year qualification in an accredited course in psychology, with equivalents considered, to submit a CV, a covering letter and two references (submitted independently of the students application) to meet the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accreditation requirements. Applicants with qualifications obtained overseas must provide evidence that their psychology qualification has been assessed by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) as equivalent to an APAC-accredited Level 2 qualification in psychology.
Academic admission requirements (Band 7) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
Bachelor Honours degree in a cognate discipline, or
Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
International students are required to provide an IELTS Academic with an overall minimum score of 7.0 (no individual band less than 6.5).
Minimum English standard requirements for this course may also be satisfied with one of the following:
Bachelor degree from an approved country,
Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent), or
Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
