Oral Medicine is a demanding yet fulfilling specialty that exposes practitioners to diverse conditions spanning both medical and dental origins.

This discipline incorporates clinical rotations across oncology, dermatology, pain assessment and treatment, sleep medicine, as well as soft and hard tissue pathologies such as salivary gland disorders.

Professionals in this field typically collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. Additionally, through a partnership between UQ and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, graduates may pursue a FRACDS fellowship (Oral Medicine specialization), which serves as a professional post-nominal qualification.
