This program prepares you to specialize in various dental fields including dento-maxillofacial radiology, endodontics, oral medicine, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, or special needs dentistry.
Learn at UQ's cutting-edge $138 million Oral Health Centre on the Herston campus, where you'll master the physiological, biochemical, structural, and functional aspects of oral and general health. Acquire superior diagnostic capabilities, clinical expertise, and thorough knowledge of scientific research methods and clinical applications.
The program includes intensive clinical training at the Oral Health Centre, along with placements at public dental clinics and healthcare facilities across South East Queensland.
You'll enhance your scientific reasoning and research skills while exploring how research informs dental practice. The curriculum culminates with a supervised research project suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
Hold an approved degree in dentistry from UQ (or equivalent) with a minimum two years of graduate clinical experience and be registered as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia.Please note that due to limited places, entry is competitive and not all applicants who meet the entry requirements are offered a e minimum GPA to be considered for admission into this program is 4.0.

IELTS overall 7; reading 7; writing 7; speaking 7; listening 7. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ
TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) - Overall 100, listening 25, reading 25, writing 27, speaking 23.
PTE Academic - Overall 72, sub bands minimum 72.
CES - Overall 185, All sub bands minimum 185.
Other OET - A minimum grade of B for each sub skill (L,S,R,W).
BE is not accepted.
