The Bachelor of Development Studies (Honours) program explores globalization through multiple lenses, emphasizing urban and regional effects, sustainable growth, and cultural diversity. This one-year full-time (or part-time equivalent) course enables students to deepen their knowledge and skills. Combining advanced theory, elevated learning, and research, it serves as a stepping stone to postgraduate research degrees. Graduates will gain: Comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of development studies across disciplines. Skills to conduct original, independent research on topics including: international development; globalization; sustainability; urban/regional transformation; and social citizenship. Qualification Requirements
Eligibility for admission to this program is based on applicants having completed a Bachelor degree in a cognate area with a minimum GPA of 5.0:
across all studies undertaken within the program, or
across a major in the proposed area of study, or
across 80 units of 3000 level courses (which must include at least 40 units of 3000 level courses in the major where a major exists), or
where the applicant has completed less than 80 units at 3000 level, a GPA of 5.5 calculated from at least 60 units of 3000 level courses (which includes at least 40 units of 3000 level courses in the major where a major exists).
IELTS overall minimum of 6.0 with no subtest result below 6.0, TOEFL IBT 60 R: 13 L:12 S:18 Writing 21
