The Peace and Development Studies program focuses on approaches to advance peace, human rights, and environmental sustainability. Learners will explore the systemic roots of racially and gender-based violence, environmental emergencies, displacement, economic hardship, disputes over resources, and inequalities across generations. The interconnected solutions encompass empowerment and autonomy, sustainable lifestyles, positive development initiatives, and peacemaking and peacebuilding efforts. These necessitate knowledge of theories and techniques for detecting, evaluating, and addressing conflict and environmental decline.
