This dual degree program is tailored for students aiming to build careers in Engineering or Biomedical Engineering. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) offers foundational training in mathematics, natural sciences, and computing, equipping you with specialized knowledge in your chosen engineering field. Biomedical Engineering utilizes engineering concepts to create healthcare technologies and solutions, spanning areas like bionic implants, medical imaging, robotic surgery, tissue engineering, rehabilitation devices, and more. Currently, this combined degree is available for specific specializations only. The program features hands-on experience, requiring 60 days of approved industrial training either in Australia or internationally. This practical component immerses you in professional engineering environments, providing valuable real-world experience. At UNSW, engineering students can participate in the ChallENG Program, which bridges academic learning with industry through project-based opportunities. This initiative enhances both technical abilities and professional growth, preparing you for future engineering challenges.
There are several admission pathways to an undergraduate degree at UNSW including high school qualifications, UNSW Foundation Studies, UNSW Diploma, recognised prior study or university transfer.
English Language requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): C+, Writing C.
