The Master of Philosophy - MDHS (Biomedical Science) is a globally recognized research-based master's program that equips students with advanced skills for conducting independent, in-depth research on specific subjects under expert guidance. The final thesis must showcase critical application of specialized knowledge while making an original contribution to current research in the field. Available research areas include: Cancer studies, Cardio-respiratory systems, Cellular signaling pathways, Advanced cellular imaging, Infectious diseases and immunology, Molecular disease mechanisms, Neuroscience research, Stem cell biology, Structural biology, Systems biology approaches, and Therapeutic development with clinical translation.
In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
a four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of (University of Melbourne) 75% or higher;
or
a masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and achieved a minimum weighted average of (University of Melbourne) 75% or higher.
English language requirements:
IELTS (academic English Only): Overall 7.0 (with written 7.0 and no band less than 6.0)
TOEFL Internet-based test: 94 + ; Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13;
Pearson Test of English Academic: 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50
Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill
