Exceptional design possesses the transformative ability to deliver enduring solutions that enhance our daily experiences. Designers employ innovative and flexible methodologies to identify and address challenges, resulting in superior outcomes. This approach empowers organizations and sectors to break free from conventional or obsolete practices. Design plays a vital role in shaping and refining urban spaces, architectural structures, transportation systems, furnishings, digital platforms, operational procedures, infrastructure projects, outdoor areas, and ecological systems. Design professionals serve as pioneers who elevate our living standards and engagement with our surroundings. The Bachelor of Design program offers the opportunity to integrate humanities, sciences, and visual/performing arts into a unified curriculum. Students can customize their expertise through elective studies and advanced design concentrations, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), to complement their primary studies. Options include specializing in one or two majors, or combining a major with a minor.

Mechanical systems education focuses on mastering the functionality and management of machinery - essentially any apparatus with moving components. Those studying Mechanical Systems will acquire skills to invent and engineer innovative products (spanning diverse sectors from transportation vehicles like automobiles, planes, and vessels to household appliances like climate control systems and cleaning devices) along with their manufacturing equipment (robotic systems, industrial machinery). The curriculum also covers designing, organizing, and overseeing production systems, workforce, and technical resources required for creating industrial and consumer goods. Additional study areas include energy production and utilization (combustion engines, renewable energy systems), all modes of transportation (ground vehicles, space vehicles), and environmental conservation (renewable energy technologies). Mechanical Systems intersects with all engineering disciplines and increasingly collaborates with domains like healthcare and life sciences. Students will merge core scientific principles of mechanics with engineering fundamentals to address real-world mechanical challenges. Foundational concepts are taught through lectures, interactive seminars, practical demonstrations, hands-on lab sessions, and complex projects. A design-oriented problem-solving methodology will be implemented to develop solutions grounded in the comprehensive knowledge gained throughout the degree program.
