Mechanical engineering focuses on creating, designing, and enhancing machinery to address real-world challenges and improve daily technologies.
The Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) equips you with professional skills for a successful career as a mechanical engineer, both locally and globally. During the initial two years of this internationally recognized program, you'll master core engineering principles, mathematics, design concepts, and professional practices.
As you advance, you can tailor your studies toward mechanical engineering or specialize in fields like manufacturing, automotive, business, mathematics, or computing. Engage in innovative, sustainable design projects and participate in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge—a humanitarian initiative included in all RMIT engineering programs. Your final-year capstone project will allow you to synthesize and apply your accumulated knowledge.
RMIT is celebrated for its hands-on, industry-aligned education, particularly in engineering. Our partnerships with leading local and global companies ensure curriculum and facilities remain cutting-edge. These connections also provide valuable opportunities like internships, industry collaborations, mentorship, and international work experiences, making graduates highly desirable to employers.
