The Bachelor of Education program prepares you for teaching careers in Australia and internationally. This research-backed curriculum builds on the Faculty of Education's expertise in developing teacher training that addresses both local and global educational needs. The initial year establishes a strong foundation, focusing on essential literacy, numeracy skills, subject knowledge, and current educational challenges. Throughout the four-year full-time program (or accelerated 3.5-year option), you'll study key areas including Indigenous education, environmental sustainability, inclusive education practices, and comprehensive teaching methodologies. All aspiring primary and secondary teachers in Australia must pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) before their second teaching placement. Full-time students starting from year 2 may need to study across January to December (six academic terms) in certain years.
