The Master of Clinical Psychology equips you with specialized expertise and practical clinical abilities to excel as a professional clinical psychologist across diverse healthcare, community, and allied environments. This comprehensive program covers both theoretical foundations and hands-on applications, including psychological principles, therapeutic approaches, intervention strategies, ethical and legal considerations in practice, psychological evaluations, research methodologies, and effective communication techniques.
Through our practicum component, students gain valuable hands-on experience by participating in various clinical training programs and placements both within and outside the university. You'll complete four intensive practicums (each lasting at least 40 days) at the RMIT Health Sciences (Psychology) Clinic, along with two external placements (40 and 60 days respectively) in healthcare settings like hospitals and clinics. Throughout these practical experiences, you'll develop clinical competencies under the guidance of qualified, AHPRA-registered supervisors with extensive professional backgrounds.
