Pharmacists are essential worldwide. As medication specialists who understand drug interactions with the human body, they significantly contribute to community health. With an expanding and aging global population, coupled with increasingly sophisticated medications, demand for pharmacists continues to rise. In 2020, our institution achieved #2 globally for pharmacy and pharmacology in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, surpassed only by Oxford. This prestigious ranking ensures you'll learn from seasoned pharmacists and researchers while utilizing state-of-the-art facilities at our Parkville campus. Our pharmacy program emphasizes hands-on training in retrieving, evaluating, and effectively communicating medication information to both patients and healthcare professionals. Domestic students: Those preferring a four-year commitment rather than five can begin with the BPharm(Hons), with the option to transition to the BPharm(Hons)MPharm later. Note that the fifth year, featuring a paid internship, is mandatory for Australian pharmacist registration. International students: If you plan to practice outside Australia, the master's component might exceed your home country's licensing requirements. You can start with BPharm(Hons) and later switch to BPharm(Hons)MPharm if needed.
