Physiotherapists evaluate, identify, and provide care for individuals experiencing mobility issues or physical limitations, whether from short-term or chronic injuries, as well as musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular-respiratory conditions. They employ diverse techniques such as patient education, tailored exercise programs, and hands-on therapy to help patients reach their recovery objectives, improve functionality, and enhance overall well-being. These professionals may practice solo or collaborate within healthcare teams, contributing to illness prevention, health promotion, and involvement in research, rehabilitation, ergonomics, and healthcare administration.
After completing an applied anatomy module in Term 1 (Jan-Feb), the initial year of the program builds foundational expertise for physiotherapy practice across various healthcare environments and patient demographics. The second year combines theoretical learning with clinical application, refining advanced skills and knowledge in real-world treatment settings.
