This program, tailored for exceptional high school graduates, offers a direct pathway into our Doctor of Medicine (5099) program. During your initial year, you'll explore foundational scientific disciplines essential to medical studies - including anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics and disease, medical law and ethics, microbiology, physiology, and epidemiology. You'll also complete a course in interpersonal skills development, equipping you with crucial patient communication techniques. The second year delves deeper into these subjects while introducing specialized medical courses covering immunology, infectious diseases, pharmacology, metabolic processes, structural biochemistry, and molecular genetics. A capstone course (Integrated Medical Sciences) synthesizes your first two years' knowledge, applying basic science principles to clinical scenarios.
Successful progression to the Doctor of Medicine prepares you for diverse career paths in clinical specialization, general practice, biomedical research, or healthcare management.
Qualification- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Your entry requirements include: Successful completion with minimum aggregate score of 39 Pathways There are no pathway options for this degree. For International applicants of countries with recognised qualifications, admission to the Bachelor of Medical Science to commence in Trimester 1, 2024 will be determined by the following criteria- academic achievement for Year 12 applicants in the year before entry OR academic achievement for applicants who have completed their senior secondary studies up to three years prior to application and who have not previously attempted tertiary study at Diploma level or higher all prerequisite subjects (or their equivalent) must be met.
