Our pioneering researchers develop enhanced and more secure digital ecosystems. Leveraging artificial intelligence and visualization technologies, they craft smart solutions for diverse fields including educational gaming, biological data analysis, and identity verification. They also enhance corporate decision-making through web-enabled intelligent support systems. With cybersecurity becoming increasingly critical, our experts lead in digital protection and forensic investigation. They produce rapid, significant results in computer forensics, network protection, cyber warfare, physical security, risk assessment, and aviation safety. ECU's Computer and Security research focuses on: Software development; Machine learning; Data organization; Visual analysis, Feature identification and Authentication; Information extraction; Educational gaming; Online interface creation and usability. Tailored postgraduate research projects in these areas are designed in collaboration with academic advisors. The school prioritizes strong partnerships with commercial enterprises, government bodies, and charitable organizations to enrich postgraduate learning opportunities.

Qualification Requirements
The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.
All applicants are required to have the equivalent of 6 months full time research (which must involve a research output which includes the conception and design of the project, and analysis and interpretation of findings) if applying with a Masters qualification other than a Master by Research.
Applicants seeking online study will be required to provide additional information to support their application, as not all projects nor disciplines are suited to online study.
Special entry may be considered for applications to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) who will be required to attend an audition and/or interview.

Academic admission requirements (Band 11) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
Masters Degree (Research), or
Bachelor Honours Degree (First or Upper Second class), or
Demonstrated capacity to undertake original PhD-level research.
It is desirable that all applicants contact a potential supervisor to discuss their research project before applying. Information about ECU's Research Institutions, Centres and Supervisors can be found in the school brochures listed on the 'Applying for a Research Degree website or the staff contact page of the relevant School.
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0),
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 84, with no individual score less than 17.
