Students completing the Exercise Physiology program will gain comprehensive knowledge of human physiology in relation to physical activity, including how exercise training adaptations contribute to better athletic performance, enhanced wellbeing, and reduced risk of long-term illnesses.
The curriculum focuses on building competencies to assess and analyze physiological changes during physical exertion, while providing real-world training through hands-on lab work. This foundational field within sports science pairs well with other Exercise and Sport Science specializations. Graduates often pursue careers as exercise specialists in athletic teams, wellness facilities, and recovery clinics. The acquired expertise also prepares students for advanced academic pursuits like research degrees, Deakin's Clinical Exercise Physiology master's program, and various clinical professions.
