The Faculty of Society & Design provides a research-based Master of Philosophy program spanning multiple academic fields. This degree enables undergraduates to advance their studies through research rather than traditional coursework, potentially including up to one-third course modules when methodological or theoretical preparation is required. Specializations cover creative media, social sciences and humanities, urban planning and sustainability, architectural studies, property valuation and development, construction administration, and project leadership. Participants engage in concentrated, in-depth exploration of their chosen research topic or creative endeavor, culminating in either a 30,000-40,000 word thesis or equivalent creative output. The curriculum emphasizes independent investigation, mastery of subject-specific expertise, methodological proficiency, and effective dissemination of research findings.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for enrolment in a Master's degree, applicants must have a degree in a relevant subject area from a recognised tertiary educational institute, with a Cumulative Percent Average (CPA) of at least 65% in the major study area at the Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent level or higher.
The minimum requirement for admission to the Master of Philosophy is the completion of a Level 7 qualification (bachelor degree) in the same discipline and English language proficiency at IELTS score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.5. The program duration is 1.5 years following a Level 7 qualification in the same discipline or 1 year following a level 8 qualification in the same discipline.
