Veterinarians commit themselves to animal health and welfare. They serve as medical professionals, skilled surgeons, compassionate caregivers, and perpetual students. Become part of a close community of learners at South Australia's exclusive School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. Our instructors bring current industry experience into the classroom, combining practical training with academic knowledge. In this program, you will:
study animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior while learning to recognize disease-causing organisms
develop skills in animal care and management
gain exposure to actual work environments like farms and production facilities
participate in extensive hands-on animal care beginning in your first semester
utilize our specialized $37 million veterinary teaching and research complex.
This program serves as the foundation for veterinary studies. Successful graduates receive automatic admission to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. Earning both degrees qualifies you for veterinary licensure, opening doors to clinic ownership or rural animal care. Alternatively, veterinary bioscience can lead to research opportunities in equine, zoo, or wildlife medicine, or careers in biosecurity managing disease prevention initiatives.
