The Bachelor of International Development program prepares you to address these and other critical issues tied to the planet's most pressing political, economic, cultural, and environmental challenges as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals framework.
We'll help you cultivate the expertise, understanding, and qualities necessary to create meaningful, positive change in people's lives. Throughout the program, you will:
investigate how various entities - including governments, businesses, NGOs, international organizations, and individuals - shape development outcomes
understand the operational mechanisms development organizations use to implement the Sustainable Development Goals
study the root causes behind problems like severe poverty, health crises, unstable governance, social inequality, and environmental fragility
evaluate potential solutions to poverty-related challenges in developing nations
acquire and apply practical skills relevant to the field.
Gain hands-on international experience through study abroad opportunities. The University collaborates with the Australian Consortium for 'In-Country' Indonesian Studies to provide a Development Studies Professional Practicum. The program also includes an annual Vietnam Study Tour and other study tours focused on international development across Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America.
