The Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences (Honours) is a 48-unit advanced undergraduate program designed for top-performing students, equivalent to one year of full-time study. This degree builds upon an undergraduate pass degree in Arts, International Studies, or Social Research and Policy. Students typically pursue honours within their chosen major specialization from their previous degree. The honours year emphasizes enhancing analytical and research capabilities, expanding subject knowledge, and applying discipline-specific methodologies.
The Global Development Honours program requires completing 48 units, which can be done through one year of full-time or two years of part-time study.
This program combines seminar participation with a substantial research component. It includes 18 units of coursework and 30 units dedicated to a thesis or research project. The final thesis or research project should be no longer than 20,000 words.
