The Electrical and Computer Engineering master's program provides diverse specialization paths. Study focus areas encompass control systems, digital systems, computer engineering, communications, CAD, device/circuit modeling, solid-state devices, sensors, power systems, power electronics, electromagnetic fields, electromechanical systems, and system analysis/design - all tailored to advance your professional aspirations. As part of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, the Rayen School of Engineering provides a Master of Science degree program. Applicants demonstrating strong potential for academic achievement can pursue one of five engineering specializations: chemical, civil/environmental, electrical, industrial/systems, or mechanical engineering. Each discipline offers multiple technical concentrations, with flexible curriculum options including thesis, non-thesis, or management tracks. These programs cater to both working professionals and full-time students pursuing advanced study and research. Evening on-campus courses combine traditional instruction with hands-on labs, seminars, and faculty-mentored research projects.

Qualification Requirements

A bachelor's degree from a college or university certified by a regional accrediting agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education. A bachelor's degree from non-regionally accredited institutions may be considered acceptable for admission. These are reviewed by the Admission and Appeals Committee.

Cumulative grade-point average in undergraduate work of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (some programs require higher GPAs).

TOEFL score—A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 79-80 on the Internet-based (IBT) Test of English as a Foreign Language by graduates of foreign universities who are nonnative English speakers.

The College of Graduate Studies will accept the academic version of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) as an alternative to the TOEFL exam for international students (A score of 6.5 on the IELTS test equates to a 550 on the paper-based TOEFL).
