Yale School of Music's trumpet program offers students deep engagement with solo and ensemble performance across musical eras, from early compositions to contemporary works. Weekly instruction with Kevin Cobb and studio classes form the core of the curriculum. The program nurtures artistic innovation while motivating students to utilize Yale's extensive academic and musical resources. Beyond solo performances, trumpet players collaborate in chamber groups - a hallmark of the Yale experience. They also perform with diverse ensembles in the New Music New Haven series and as members of the Yale Philharmonia orchestra. These activities provide exposure to broad musical styles under the direction of renowned visiting conductors.
