The Latinx and Latin American Christianity program offers an interdisciplinary approach for students interested in exploring religious traditions, theological perspectives, and historical developments within Latinx and Latin American contexts. Participants may specialize in either U.S. Latinx Christianity or Latin American Christianity, or combine both areas to cultivate a broader hemispheric understanding. This 18-credit concentration mandates twelve credits in Latinx/Latin American religious studies, with six additional credits available in related disciplines. The curriculum includes foundational coursework in biblical studies, historical contexts, ethical frameworks, and theological concepts to ensure comprehensive learning. Non-Spanish/Portuguese speakers are advised to pursue language studies relevant to their focus areas.
