The program's objectives include equipping students with the academic foundation necessary for professions in museums, cultural heritage preservation, and teaching at community colleges and high schools. It also offers educators, museum professionals, and administrators a chance to update their knowledge of current archaeological advancements. Furthermore, the program enables select students to enhance their archaeological expertise before pursuing doctoral studies. Yale's Council on Archaeological Studies oversees the program. Questions regarding the MA program can be directed to the Council Chair and Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). Additional details about graduate course prerequisites are available in the Graduate School bulletin.
Applicants must have completed your undergraduate degree (bachelor's or equivalent) or will have completed it prior to your intended matriculation date at Yale.
