The doctoral program specializing in EMD aims to establish a strong foundation in contemporary epidemiological and microbiological theory and practice, develop expertise in research methodologies, and utilize these competencies to study disease-causing pathogens and their epidemiological patterns. This interdisciplinary program incorporates ecological, clinical, cellular, immunological, and molecular perspectives on infectious diseases, their pathogens, animal hosts, and transmission vectors. Ph.D. candidates may also pursue interdisciplinary training through collaborative programs involving YSPH faculty, including the Microbiology and Immunobiology specializations within the Biomedical and Biological Studies curriculum.
Applicants must have completed your undergraduate degree (bachelor's or equivalent) or will have completed it prior to your intended matriculation date at Yale.
