The Department of Global Health has partnered with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation and Health Alliance International to create a pioneering PhD program in Global Health. This unique program leverages faculty expertise in metrics and implementation science, equipping students with cutting-edge methodologies to develop solutions for crucial global health decision-making. Doctoral students will benefit from studying in Seattle - a hub for global health innovation - where researchers, funders, and practitioners collaborate to enhance public health outcomes. Graduates will be exceptionally prepared for careers across academia, global institutions, government health agencies, philanthropic organizations, or corporate settings.
The metrics concentration trains scholars to transform data into actionable insights through advanced quantitative methods, impact assessment approaches, and analytical frameworks. These students focus their research on addressing three fundamental questions that illuminate population health status and identify improvement strategies.
