Prospective students aiming to enroll in the Cell Biology program must initially apply to the integrated graduate program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS), selecting the Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics, and Development (MCGD) pathway within the BBS application. All accepted candidates into the Cell Biology program, as well as the broader BBS program, receive comprehensive financial assistance, which includes a year-round stipend and full tuition coverage throughout their Ph.D. studies. For the initial three years, funding typically comes from NIH training grants, followed by support from faculty advisors' research grants. Many students secure fellowships from organizations like the NSF and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, with first- and second-year students being particularly encouraged to pursue these distinguished honors. A select number of Yale-sponsored fellowships are also offered to exceptional international students.
Applicants must have completed your undergraduate degree (bachelor's or equivalent) or will have completed it prior to your intended matriculation date at Yale.
