Yale's Ph.D. program in Applied Physics serves to validate two key academic achievements: comprehensive knowledge of the discipline and proven capacity for innovative research, alongside professional training in applied physics. Candidates must adhere to both this document's guidelines and all Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and University regulations. While some policies appear here, others are detailed in the Graduate School's Bulletin. The department acknowledges that students may encounter exceptional challenges during their studies. In such cases, they should consult their advisor, the DGS, Department Chair, or Graduate School staff for support. These resources exist to help students maximize their potential within the program. Maintaining good academic standing, as defined below, remains an ongoing requirement throughout graduate studies.
Applicants must have completed your undergraduate degree (bachelor's or equivalent) or will have completed it prior to your intended matriculation date at Yale.
