The harpsichord program at the School of Music equips students with mastery of solo repertoire spanning from the late Renaissance to pre-Classical eras, along with comprehensive Baroque ensemble training that develops skilled continuo accompaniment for both vocalists and instrumentalists. The curriculum additionally covers Baroque performance techniques, instrument study (organology), and harpsichord tuning/upkeep. Yale School of Music harpsichord students gain exclusive access to perform on historically restored keyboards from the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments.

Qualification Requirements

Request recommendations from two teachers who have taught you in core academic subjects (e.g. English, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) who know you well, and who have seen you at your best.
