Students in the acting emphasis program can enroll in the Core Curriculum, a comprehensive five-quarter series of acting, voice, and movement classes spanning their sophomore through junior years. This integrated approach, combined with multiple departmental productions each term, provides wide-ranging performance and training experiences. Prospective students should be aware that the Core Curriculum is an intensive course sequence requiring complete dedication, which may limit opportunities for extracurricular involvement or pursuing a minor in another field. Junior-year transfer students can undertake this five-quarter program or, based on their prior coursework in acting, movement, and voice at other institutions, may qualify to waive certain Core Curriculum requirements. Beyond the core program, specialized acting electives are also offered.
